Application for scholarships has closed. The following text applies to those that had already submitted an application for a scholarship prior to December 20, 2018.

Scholarships will be available for early-career investigators to support travel to the upcoming ICSN meeting of the International Cancer Screening Network.

The ICSN meeting brings together experts from around the world who are evaluating organized cancer screening programs. Most of these individuals have backgrounds in medicine, public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or outcomes research.

To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Currently be enrolled in a graduate or medical school, or has completed medical training or last doctorate degree after January 2009 or working in low- and middle-income countries (per World Bank definition)
  • Conduct research relevant to either organized cancer screening programs or screening within the context of clinical practice
  • Be first author on an abstract submitted to the ICSN 2019 meeting

The deadline for scholarship applications is December 20, 2018. To apply, please send an email to Douglas Puricelli Perin (douglas.puricelliperin@nih.gov) with a CV, your address, and two paragraphs totaling 600 words; first paragraph – why you want to attend; second paragraph – what you will do with what you have learned when you return to your country.

We will notify applicants about the decision by January 25, 2019.
